What is rosemary essential oil?
Rosemary essential oil is steam distilled and is extracted from the leaves of the rosemary plant (rosmarinus officinalis). The essential oil has a clear to light yellow in colour with a herbaceous and woody scent.

Origin and history
Rosemary essential oil is native to the Mediterranean regions and has been used for medicinal and spiritual uses for many years.
It is said the name originates from the Virgin Mary, as she placed her cloak over the plant changing the blossom from white to blue. The plant was then associated with the name “Rose of Mary", becoming rosemary over time.
