Clove bud oil is a light, clear coloured oil that is steam distilled from the buds of the clove tree. Clove trees grow to over 10 metres tall, and the clove buds are beaten from the tree and the oil is steam distilled from them. It has an intense, warm, spicy aroma and is very potent.
Clove bud essential oil is a fantastic natural ingredient but needs to be used with a little caution. Clove bud essential oil is potent and can sensitise skin. Essential oils shouldn't be applied to the skin directly or consumed. We advise against use in pregnancy and always keep out of reach of children.
