What is pomegranate oil?
Pomegranate oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the pomegranate fruit. The oil is orange in colour with a slightly fruity scent.
Pomegranate is a unique oil as it contains high amounts of a rare essential fatty acid called punicic acid (omega 5). It also contains smaller amounts of linoleic acid and oleic fatty acids.
Pomegranate oil for skin
Pomegranate oil is used in skincare products like creams, serums, lotions, body butters and soaps.
It has a comedogenic rating of 1, meaning it is suitable for all skin types including oily skin. It is great for dry skin as it locks in moisture to the skin and is very hydrating.

Melt the shea butter and coconut oil in a microwave or in a bowl over boiling water.

Once fully melted add the pomegranate oil.

Mix the oils and butters together until fully combined and leave to cool in the fridge.

Once it is cooled and has started to set, whisk the mixture until it forms a whipped and creamy consistency.
