








What is rice bran oil?
Originating from Japan, our rice bran oil is extracted from the bran of the rice kernel. The oil is yellow in colour and has a neutral scent.
What is rice bran oil used for?
Rice bran oil is a good source of tocopherols, vitamin E and ferulic acid. It has great moisturising and nourishing properties. Rice bran oil is also a fantastic emollient and absorbs very well into the hair and skin.
It has a comedogenic rating of 2 so it is unlikely to clog pores but may not be suitable for oily and acne prone skin types.
Rice bran oil is often used in skincare products like creams, lotions, face treatments and face masks.
Make your own skin treatment with rice bran oil
Ingredients
- Organic shea butter 100g
- Rice bran oil 50ml
- Jojoba oil 50ml
Method
- Measure the shea butter and melt in a bowl over hot water or a microwave
- Weigh out the jojoba oil and rice bran oil.
- Mix the oils into the melted shea butter
- Once fully combined, leave to cool in the fridge.
- Once the mixture looks like it is starting to set, whisk until it creates a creamy whipped consistency.
- Now your skin treatment is ready to use!
