What is vitamin E oil?

Our natural vitamin E* oil is highly concentrated and it contains around 70% vitamin E and is infused in sunflower oil. Vitamin E is a thick oil and is golden orange in colour.

Some vitamin E oils are produced synthetically, however our vitamin E oil is 100% natural and is distilled from sunflower oil.

Vitamin E oil is best used diluted to 6% in a carrier oil before applying it to the skin. However, it is a thick oil and can clog pores especially in areas prone to acne. It is suggested to do a patch test before using it to check for skin sensitivity.

Vitamin E oil general benefits

Vitamin E oil is often found in products like moisturisers. It is great for rough dry skin and sensitive skin as it hydrates and retains moisture which helps to soothe itchy and irritated skin.

It is said often that oral vitamin e oil can help reduce eczema as it is great for dry skin, however our vitamin e oil is not suitable for consumption and there have been no proven benefits that it can reduce eczema on the skin.

It is also said that vitamin e oil can be used to reduce the appearance of surface scars and improve uneven skin tone, however there is not scientific evidence to prove this works.

How to use vitamin E oil

Vitamin E is generally skin safe but it is best diluted to 6% or less in a carrier oil before application. However, it is suggested to do a skin patch test before applying topically.

Vitamin E oil can also be added to cosmetic recipes like suncream, lotions or creams for added benefits. It can also be added to hair care products to boost the vitamin E content.

Storage

Vitamin E oil should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
