What is bentonite clay?

Bentonite clay is a natural clay that is formed from the weathering of volcanic ash. It is a fine, light grey powder that turns into a thick paste when water is added. Our bentonite clay is Sodium bentonite.

The clay is named after Fort Benton, where the largest source of the clay can be found. Bentonite clay powder is found all over minerals all over the world and has been used for centuries.

Bentonite clay was used in traditional medicine for its health benefits and mineral content. It contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium and iron.

What can bentonite clay be used for?

Bentonite clay is often used in cosmetics like creams, hair masks, lotion, body scrub and face mask. It is used to remove impurities, oil and toxins from the skin.

Bentonite clay powder is said to be great for oily skin types as it helps the body absorb the dirt and oil.

How to make your own face mask with bentonite clay

Ingredients:

• Water 10g | 34%

• Honey 2g | 7%

• Charcoal powder 5g | 17%

• Bentonite clay 10g | 34%

• Jojoba oil 2g | 7%

Method:

1. Mix the water and honey into a bowl.

2. Combine the bentonite clay powder and charcoal powder into the water mixture.

3. Once fully combined, add in the jojoba oil.

4. Mix all of the ingredients for a few minutes, ensuring there are no lumps remaining.

5. Now your face mask is ready to use. Make sure to use this immediately as there are no preservatives.
