What are dried chamomile flowers used for?
Fresh chamomile flowers are dried to conserve the properties of the chamomile plant. Our chamomile flowers have a fresh, apple like aroma.
Dried chamomile flowers are often used in cosmetics for their scent, added skin benefits and for infusions. The dried flowers can also be used in potpourri and for decoration.
How to make a chamomile infusion
Dried chamomile flowers can be used to create an infused oil. Infusing chamomile flowers in oil is said to have a soothing effect on the skin. The dried flowers can be infused in carrier oils such as olive oil, sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
Fill a jar with the dried flowers until about half full and cover them fully with your carrier oil of choice.
Leave the chamomile flowers to infuse into the oil for around 2 - 6 weeks, making sure to shake occasionally.
What is the INCI name for chamomile flowers?
The INCI name for our chamomile flowers is Chamomile Matricaria.
