What is german chamomile essential oil?
German chamomile essential oil is steam distilled from the chamomile plant's flower heads. It is also known as blue chamomile essential oil because of its dark blue colour. German chamomile has a strong sweet, herbal and floral aroma.
It is often confused with roman chamomile as they are both from the Asteraceae family. Roman chamomile has a sweet, apple like aroma. Whereas, german chamomile has a more herbal and floral scent.

German chamomile oil has a floral aroma with a slightly fruity and bitter undertone. It is used as a middle note in blends.
