What is jasmine absolute essential oil?
Jasmine absolute essential oil is extracted from the jasmine flowers, using a solvent extraction method. The oil is 100% pure and is dark yellow to red in colour with a rich floral and sweet aroma.
The jasmine plant (jasminum officinale) is a genus of shrubs and vines and is covered in small, white star shaped flowers. The genus contains over 200 plants native to tropical regions of Africa, Eurasia, and Oceania.
Origin and history
There are around 200 species of jasmine plant and it is native to subtropical regions like Africa, Australia and parts of Asia. It is believed to have been discovered as early as 1000 B.C.
Jasmine was used in Ancient Egypt to treat headaches, for a perfumed hot water bath, to promote better quality sleep and as a perfume.
Today, jasmine is used for its therapeutic properties and in cosmetics for its natural floral and sweet aroma.

How to store jasmine absolute essential oil
