What is Neem Oil?

Neem oil is a carrier oil pressed from the fruit and seeds of the neem tree, which is a variety of tropical evergreen tree. Our cold pressed neem oil is yellow/brown in colour and has a characteristically strong natural scent.

Neem oil is commonly used as a repellent for insect pests. It is suggested that 5ml of Neem Oil, mixed with 1L of water and a couple of drops of liquid soap creates a good natural pesticide. You would also need to ensure that neem oil works as a repellent for the type of insects you have.

Neem oil is widely used in skin care like lotions, creams and soap. Despite its strong scent that some find overpowering, neem oil has gained popularity in skin treatments because of its healing benefits reported by those who suffer from acne or dry, itchy skin.

Make your own skin treatment with neem oil

Ingredients

• Organic shea butter 100g
• Neem oil 50ml
• Jojoba oil 50ml

Method

1. Melt the shea butter in a microwave or in a bowl over hot water.
2. Weigh out the neem oil and jojoba oil.
3. Mix the neem oil mixture and shea together.
4. Once the mixture is fully combined, place in the fridge to cool.
5. When the mixture looks like it is starting to set, use a whisk to mix it.
6. It should form a light creamy consistency, similar to whipped cream.
7. Now your skin treatment is ready to use!

Neem oil is also used in hair treatments for dry or damaged hair. It can also be used to condition the scalp, reduce dandruff, treat hair lice, minimise grays, and promote healthy hair growth.

• Neem oil 100ml
• Vitamin E oil 5ml

Method

1. Measure out the castor oil, macadamia oil, neem oil and vitamin E oil.
2. Mix all of the oils together in a bowl.
3. Pour the neem oil mixture into you chosen bottle and apply!
