What is organic white beeswax?
Organic white beeswax is a natural wax produced by honey bees. Our white beeswax comes in small pellets and is white in colour.
The white beeswax pellets are refined, so the colour has been removed. This makes it more suitable for making beauty products that require added colours.
To ensure the white beeswax is organic, beekeepers make sure there are no substances in the farms where the honeybees, and honey, are kept.
No pesticides or harmful chemicals are used in the beehive or in the direct area surrounding it.
Worker bees have been found to travel up to around 6 miles to collect pollen or food. Beekeepers ensure there are no farms or plants within this radius that contain pesticides to ensure the beeswax is organic.
Our organic white beeswax is 100% pure and is certified organic by the Soil Association. We are audited once a year to make sure that we comply with their strict standards.
What is organic white beeswax used for?
White beeswax is used in skin care and hair care products as a natural wax to help improve texture, thicken and stabilize formulations.
It also has some emulsifying properties as it helps bind ingredients. However, white beeswax should not be used as an emulsifier on its own.
Organic white beeswax can be found in many products like lip balms, lotion bars, moisturiser, lipsticks, candles, body butters and soap.
Beeswax is a humectant and helps to hydrate the skin by keeping in the moisture. It creates a protective barrier which helps prevent the loss of moisture from your skin, without drying the skin out.
Because the white beeswax is refined, it is a suitable choice for cosmetic products that require colours to be added, without the natural colour affecting the outcome.
Refined white beeswax can also be used for making candles as a natural wax alternative. Beeswax candles also burn longer than normal paraffin wax candles.
